St Mary's Theatre Club's recent murder mystery production has been described as "an astounding success".
Kate Rhodes, who wrote Scilly-set thrillers Hell Bay and Ruin Beach, penned the play for the Club to perform for charity.
It received its premiere as a dinner production at the On The Quay restaurant during the Creative Scilly festival, which Kate attended.
Theatre Club chairman Linda Thomas said in her report for last week's AGM: "Our latest production is a brilliant murder mystery play written by renowned author Kate Rhodes, the premiere of which was performed earlier this month at ‘On the Quay’. Directed by Kate Hale, it was an astounding success and we have been asked to do more! More! More!
"As many of you know Kate Rhodes wrote it for free providing we gave part of the money we raised to charity, which on this occasion was Children’s Hospice South West. We are also delighted that Kevin Leeman has been able to join us for the summer."
Theatre Club are currently confirming dates for further performances of the play, which is set on a luxury yacht moored between Tresco and St Agnes.
Hell Bay, Ruin Beach and follow-up Burnt Island have been optioned for TV, with a pilot due to be filmed next year. Burnt Island is due to be released as an e-book this month and in print later in the year.
