Sea Kayak Challenge returns to Scilly
A team of kayakers from the UK’s leading marine charity have spent the last four days on the islands for the sixth annual Kayak Challenge.
The Marine Conservation Society (MCS) challenge gives up to 12 people the chance to experience the islands from the unique perspective of a kayak while raising money for the charity.
They also have the opportunity take part in a beach clean and get first-hand experience of the "shocking rubbish that is washed up, dropped or blown on to our beaches day after day".
The annual expedition is led by Nick Arding OBE, who has worked with MCS since 2013 when he and wife Philippa sea kayaked the length of Britain, raising almost £4,000. The following year they ran the first Kayak Challenge around Cornwall and have run the Scilly Challenge since 2015.
This year's Challenge ran from May 18th until today (May 22th).
