Falmouth, Looe crowned gig rowing world champions

Falmouth and Looe are the winners of the 2019 World Pilot Gig Championships on the Isles of Scilly.

 

The Arwenack crew from Falmouth took the ladies' title, with last year's winners Ann Glanville from Caradon in second and Zeeheld from the Netherlands in third.

 

 

The men's race was won by Currah's Pride from Looe for the second year running, followed by Polvarth (Roseland) and Morvah (Coverack). The Tregarthen's crew from Scilly came in fifth. 

 

 

Tregarthen's (Scilly) won the ladies' vets and Kensa (Mounts Bay) took the super vets, while the men's were won by Polvarth (Roseland) and Arwenack (Falmouth) respectively.
