St Mary's by-election candidates revealed

April 26, 2019

Four candidates have put themselves forward for Scilly's Council by-election next month.

Former Councillors Andrew Combes and Steve Whomersley will compete with Tim Dean and Jeanette Ware for a single seat.

The vacancy follows the departure of Ted Moulson earlier this month.

The by-election will be held on May 23rd at the same time as elections to the European Parliament (unless the UK has left the EU before that date).

It was recently revealed that former MP Ann Widdecombe and Boris Johnson's journalist sister Rachel Johnson will be on the ballot for the South West region, representing the Brexit Party and Change UK respectively,

Pro-EU peer Lord Andrew Adonis will stand for Labour in the region.
