The Mermaid Inn on St Mary's has applied to sell alcohol until midnight every night.
The application, in the name of Punch Taverns Ltd, seeks to be able to supply alcohol from 9am to midnight, with the pub closing 30 minutes after time is called from Sunday to Thursday and 45 minutes after on Friday and Saturday.
They have also requested permission to provide late-night refreshment - hot food and drink - every evening from 11pm until midnight.
No additional hours are sought for live or recorded music.
The cellar and main bar currently have a licence to sell alcohol between 11am and 11.30pm from Monday to Saturday and between 11am and 11pm on Sunday.
The application is accompanied by a noise management policy, a plan for dispersing patrons at the end of the night and a plan for customers smoking outside the premises.
The Council's Environmental Health team has requested to add a condition to the proposed licence variation, reading: 'The DPS or duty manager of the premises will ensure that after 23:00 hours until the premises closes to the public that noise from any regulated entertainment at the premises will be kept to such a level not to cause a public nuisance in the bedrooms of any residential dwellings.'
The Council's Licensing Panel will decide on the application at a Hearing on April 9th.
