Old Town Inn welcomes new managers

Old Town Inn on St Mary's has a new management team.

Hannah and Colin McKinnon took over the reins of the pub last week.

The couple, who moved to the islands around six years ago, both have a background in hospitality and catering.

They spent their first year on Scilly working at the Turks Head on St Agnes and jumped at the opportunity to get back into the trade with Old Town Inn.

Hannah said of their future plans: "We're not going to change too much, we think it works pretty well as it is. We'll probably put a few more events on. On Saturday night we had a curry night and that was really busy. We'll have a few extra things through the summer, maybe do a bit of a redecoration at the end of the season and that's about it really."

Hannah added that pub owners Paul and Maggie Evans have been on hand by phone to offer help and advice. The couple are currently in France but will return to the islands.
