Scilly pair start fundraising for London Marathon

Two of the three islanders who completed the London Winter Run last month have now set their sights on April's London Marathon.

Leanne Gibbons and Bec Campion, who ran the 10k race in February with friend Becky Hicks, hope to raise money for charity United Response with their latest challenge.

The pair are holding a fundraising coffee morning on St Mary's this weekend.

They said: "Liz Osborne has very kindly allowed us the use of Kavorna on Sunday, where we will have tea, coffee, cakes, biscuits, a tombola and a lucky square board. Any donations of cakes would also be gratefully received."

United Response was founded in 1973 with a mission to 'ensure that individuals with learning disabilities, mental or physical support needs have the opportunity to live their lives to the full'.
