A new management team is poised to take over Radio Scilly.
The handover process will start straight away, pending agreement from Ofcom.
The news follows the announcement from current managers Beth Hilton and Steve Sims in January
that lack of time and unforeseen circumstances meant they could not continue.
They said at the time that the station would close in March unless someone suitable could be found to take over.
Beth said today: "It was really heartening that there were so many expressions of interest in Radio Scilly from the mainland, which is testament to its reputation in the industry.
"We felt it was important to have someone on the islands too so we are thrilled that a resident has come forward and will work in conjunction with two radio professionals from the mainland.
"Between them, they have the expertise, experience and, most importantly, time to really drive the station forward in a way that we would have been unable to do ourselves.
"Steve will also stay on as a director to ensure a smooth transition and we're fortunate enough to still have Will with us. We're really confident that the station will be in excellent hands."
She added: "We are awaiting Ofcom approval but we feel safe in saying that Radio Scilly is not going anywhere but up."
