Isles of Scilly Travel launches expanded website

Isles of Scilly Travel has launched a redesigned and expanded website.

The site, designed to "help visitors make the most of the destination", offers information, tips, advice and guides to help people plan their trip to Scilly, as well as an events section, video hub and a more user-friendly layout.

It also shows how to connect to Scilly from different UK locations, including route maps showing key domestic flight and rail services which connect to the Skybus, Island Helicopters and Scillonian services.

Meanwhile, a new ‘Inspire Me’ section offers day trip and holiday itineraries designed for couples, families and passengers of all ages, detailing what visitors can do on each island during different lengths of stay.

A new accommodation page lists a sample of the accommodation available on Scilly, as well as accommodation on the mainland close to the Steamship Group's departure points at Land’s End, Newquay, Exeter and Penzance.

Sharon Sandercock, Marketing and Communications Manager for the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group, said: “We’ve thought carefully and worked hard on our new website, which will improve the customer booking experience and offer a wealth of advice and guidance for those planning a visit to the islands.

“We are regularly being asked by our passengers for more information about what they can do on the Isles of Scilly, whether during a day trip or for a longer holiday. Passengers have repeatedly requested that we provide information about accommodation as well as the many activities and events on Scilly.

“We hope the new site will help encourage even more visitors to make a trip and to boost Scilly as a major visitor destination.”

Isles of Scilly Travel has also launched its 2019 winter schedule for flights and helicopter services, meaning visitors can "book their travel to visit Scilly during the quieter winter period and enjoy the appeal of the islands out of peak season".
