Josh Clayton's mum appeals for Tresco witnesses

Josh Clayton's mum has appealed to anyone who may have information about her son's last movements.

Tracey Clayton has vowed to continue investigating Josh's death after an inquest jury ruled it an accident on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old's body was found on rocks off Tean on September 23, 2015, ten days after he went missing following a party on Tresco.

In a post on the Isles of Scilly Notice Board on Facebook, Tracey asked anyone who was on Tresco during the weekend of September 12th and 13th 2015 to come forward with any information they may have.

Read the post in full below:

It has been over three years since my youngest son Joshua was taken from his loving family.

The precise circumstances surrounding his disappearance and subsequent death remain a complete mystery. There is only unproven speculation.

It is known that, Joshua attended a party hosted by Tristan Dorrien-Smith at a venue known as the Shed on Tresco, commencing the evening of Saturday 12 September 2015.

It is thought that around 55 people attended that party, yet only a small majority have been spoken to by Devon & Cornwall Police. Around half the attendees completed questionnaires and even fewer witness statements.

Joshua’s last known sighting was 01.50 at the Shed on Sunday 13 September 2015.

It is currently unknown when and how he left that party. Apparently, no one saw him leave, which is accepted to be unheard of and therefore completely out of character.

It is also currently unknown if actually he left with others or in which direction he travelled.

It has been suggested that he dropped some of his belongings close to the Shed, including an unopened packet of cigarettes and a small charging device.

A lot has been made of a damaged bicycle found in a large hedge close to the Shed.

Therefore, we would like to appeal for anyone on Tresco during the weekend of 12 to 13 September 2015, to come forward with any information they feel might be relevant to Joshua, no matter how small or trivial, it could still be important.

Did you see Joshua that morning? If so where and at what time?

Was he alone or with others? If so where and at what time?

Did you leave the party with him? If so, what time and which way did you go? Who else was with you?

Were you using the bicycle found in the hedge?

Did Joshua give you a packet of cigarettes? If so could you have dropped the cigarettes?

Were you using the phone charger? If so could you have dropped the charger?

Did you hear or see anything unusual that morning?

Do you have any other potential relevant information?
