Tregarthen's Christmas Fayre raised £600 for cancer

Last weekend's Christmas Fayre at Tregarthen's raised £604 for Cancer Research UK.

The annual event featured music from Scilly Sirens, Scallywag and the Sunset Syncopators, as well as food and a variety of stalls.

In other recent fundraising news, the charity shop on St Mary's made £270 for the Royal British Legion on November 10th.

Eight-year-old Martha Eggins from Hillside Farm on Bryher also raised £421 for the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust by selling magnets bearing her own drawings of bugs, birds and other Scilly creatures. The Trust wrote on social media: "Thank you Martha, you are a real advocate for nature and conservation work and Scilly is lucky to have you helping to look after her and her wildlife."
