The Isles of Scilly Register Office has a special offer for couples wishing to marry next year.
Anyone booking a wedding for 2019 by the end of this year can have the ceremony at 2018 prices.
Deputy Superintendent Registrar Jane Hurd said: "At the moment the Council puts the prices up every year, but anyone who books between now and the end of the year can book next year’s wedding at this year’s prices. So if you are thinking of officially getting engaged at Christmas or on Valentine's Day I would say do it privately now, pop the question and get your wedding booked and get it a bit cheaper.”
Jane cautioned that couples are unable to marry outdoors just yet, despite recent press reports that the Chancellor is to order a review into wedding venues.
She said: "There was a lot of talk in the newspapers at the weekend about the govt going to let people marry anywhere in England and Wales but it’s going to need an Act of Parliament so please don’t get too excited anyone it’s not going to happen anytime soon."
In the meantime, couples wishing to marry on Scilly can do so at Juliet’s Garden, Star Castle, Tregarthen's and Karma St Martins, as well as the Council’s register office and Porthcressa Beachside room.
