Home Hardware 'thrilled' to launch Tool Room

October 23, 2018

Islands Home Hardware on St Mary's will launch its new dedicated Tool Room tomorrow.

Julia and Emma Day, who own the Hugh Town store, said they are "absolutely thrilled" with the revamped area.

Julia told This is Scilly: "We've been wanting to reorganise this room for a very long time and we're thrilled with the outcome of the refit.

"We've deliberately chosen to stock Faithfull tools because they sit very neatly in that middle bracket between DIY and professional. They have really good quality DIY tools that cross over into the professional so we know that we've got a great quality product at a decent price. That was important for us."

Julia said that refurbishing the former pet department does not mean the store's pet range has reduced.

"It means our pet range has increased actually. We've moved it out into the main shop and we've taken the opportunity to have a revamp there so we're now able to offer more specialised pet foods and products."

The shop opens at 8.30am, with two representatives from supplier Toolbank on hand until 11.30 to talk to customers about the technical aspects of the products.

Julia added that Islands Home Hardware will then be an "authorised Faithfull concept store" so can acquire anything from the company's range.
