Walk Scilly Weekend 'glorious and windswept'
The Walk Scilly Long Weekend has been described as "incredible" by its organisers.
Various changes were made to the schedule for the event due to the high winds and rain brought by Storm Callum.
However, Carolyn Garman from the Islands' Partnership said the Weekend had been a success despite the weather, calling it "five glorious and rather windswept days".
Cornwall's acclaimed sand artist Tony Plant was a particular highlight, creating a pop-up sand drawing at Little Bay, St. Martin’s at low tide on Sunday.
Carolyn said: "Storm Callum passed through the Isles of Scilly by Saturday lunchtime, paving the way for Tony to work his magic throughout the rest of the weekend - wind directions, tides and sun aspect allowing.
"Walkers on the 'St. Martin’s - Through the Eyes of an Islander' walk with Anna Cawthray were given first glimpses of the installation, as a ripple of interest grew amongst many other locals and visitors of the temporary piece that was being created in situ and who went to discover it for themselves."

Tony was one of three artists invited by the Creative Islands programme to enhance the Walk Scilly Weekend autumn festival, which draws on Scilly’s wilder side and uses the islands’ rich natural environment as inspiration for its walks. Alongside Tony, flower artist Bee Watson and sound artist Laura Denning (below) also created compelling walking experiences and creative workshops across the islands.

Other highlights of the long weekend included the Dark Skies walk on St. Martin’s, an Around the Archipelago boat safari, a coastal seaweed forage on St. Mary’s, the St. Agnes Top to Toe, and two uninhabited island discoveries - to Teän and Samson.
The event concluded last night with a Bat Detective Walk on St Mary’s.
