Bishop & Wolf to close 'temporarily' next week

The Bishop & Wolf on St Mary's will shut temporarily next Friday when the current tenants leave.

Emma and James Squire are leaving the pub on October 5th and St Austell Brewery has been advertising for a couple to replace them. However, the search has so far been unsuccessful.

A St Austell spokeswoman told This is Scilly: "We are still yet to appoint new tenants for the Bishop & Wolf and so it looks like the pub will temporarily shut on the 5th October when our current tenant leaves.

"Please be assured we are working hard to recruit the right tenant/s and hope to have the much loved local up and running again soon should this be the case."

Emma posted on social media: "Well all good things come to an end. This is our last full week at the Bishop many of you may be glad to here this but for those of you who have supported us through the years I would like to thank you and also thanks to all the amazing staff that have worked for us.

"Myself and James have had some great times here and made so many great memories we will miss you all and the bishop so much but hope to see you on other side of bar soon. We will be serving food all this week with our last day of food on Sunday."
