Isles of Scilly Judo Club celebrating 50th birthday
The Isles of Scilly Judo Club is celebrating its 50th anniversary this weekend.

The Club will host its first competition with visiting clubs from Cornwall tomorrow and held a training session today with coaches from the mainland.
Instructor Harriet Smith said: "This event will mark an amazing achievement of our little club and how successful and committed the Isles of Scilly Judo Club is."
The Club will also hold a party at the Golf Club tomorrow evening with a buffet and disco to celebrate its anniversary in style.
Member Jacob Mallon, 11, said of today's training session: “It was good fun and it was nice that all the mainlanders came over and trained with us.”
The Isles of Scilly Judo Club came home with 17 medals after the Cornish Judo Championships in June.
It trains in the school performance hall, where its practice area is the size of one competition mat.
It is one of the largest clubs on the islands, with a waiting list for members. Despite Scilly's small population, it has the largest children's judo membership in the South West.
