The organisers of St Martin's Fete have insisted that the event will go ahead tomorrow, regardless of the weather.
The fete starts at noon on Pool Green, despite some rain forecast for the afternoon.
The event will include live music, traditional stalls and fete games, a bouncy castle, kayak tug of war, dry land gig racing and more. There will also be lots of food and drink, including seafood paella and a gin bar provided by the team from Karma St Martin's Hotel.
Island residents have been continuing preparations and making defiant posts on social media in the face of the forecast, saying that the fete will likely move to the Island Hall in the event of heavy rain.
This year's fete to raise money for the St Martin's Island Hall will be make its charitable donation to the Cornish Air Ambulance.
