Lifelong Learning rebrands as Learn Scilly
The Council of the Isles of Scilly's Lifelong Learning department has rebranded and become 'Learn Scilly'.
In its first newsletter under the new name, staff said they are "bursting with pride" to announce the new name and look, which "underpins our role in supporting our island community with skills developments and opportunities to learn, enjoy and achieve".
The department, which offers adult education courses and careers advice, is run by Jo Evans (Officer - Learning, Library & Active Scilly), along with Assistant Trish Peacock, and Officers Alice Praeger and Helena Plowman.
The newsletter went on to describe the change as "more than an identity refresh", adding: "It’s our commitment to working with the local community to inspire you to achieve your goals."
Learn Scilly also plans to introduce online booking and payment via Facebook and the Council website, allowing islanders to reserve a space on any courses at a time convenient to them.
There are courses starting this Autumn in the areas of health and wellbeing; arts, crafts and photography; 'upskilling' your business; and English, maths and IT.
