Tresco one of top 5 'places to fall in love'

Tresco has finished fifth in a list of the UK’s 20 most romantic places compiled by romance publisher Mills & Boon.

The Fairy Pools in the Isle of Skye was voted the number one place to fall in love, followed by the Lake District village of Grasmere, the city of Bath and Durdle Door on the Dorset coast.

A longlist was drawn up by a panel of experts from UK travel, news and magazine publications before being narrowed down to the top 20 by a national poll of 2,000 people.

To celebrate the survey, Mills & Boon has commissioned a short story set in each of the top 10 most romantic spots.

The story set on Tresco is Coming Home to the Cornish Isles by Jessica Gilmore. The description reads: 'Since becoming a successful lawyer Tabby has barely been back to the beautiful beaches and gorgeous towns of Tresco. Yet as soon as she sets foot on the island, she is drawn back to the incredible art of Jowan, the man she could never forget. Could their long-lost love bring her home forever?'
