Injured visitor flown out from Peninnis


A visitor was flown off St Mary's by Air Ambulance this afternoon after breaking her ankle on Peninnis.

Coastguards were called out to assist paramedics to stretcher the woman to safety.

The patient had been walking in the steep area below Pulpit Rock when the accident happened.

Cornwall Air Ambulance flew 41 missions to the islands last year, the highest number in the region.

The charity is currently holding an appeal to raise £2.5 million to bring a next generation helicopter to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly by April 1, 2020
