First three cruise ships of season cancelled
The cruise ship Marco Polo has cancelled its visit tomorrow due to strong winds.
The cancellation is the third so far after the Magellan was unable to visit on Tuesday and the Astoria on March 22nd.
The Marco Polo was due to bring around 680 passengers to Tresco and St Mary's. It will now visit Plymouth instead.
The ship was earlier forced to divert to Portsmouth instead of its scheduled stop in Guernsey.
One couple aboard the Marco Polo said they have now "given up" trying to reach Scilly by cruise ship after failing to make it on two out of three occasions, including one attempt in mid-summer.
The Scillonian is also cancelled tomorrow. Winds of 52mph are forecast at 6am, falling to 42mph at 11am.
