ISSG hopes Tresco will 'continue discussions'
The Isles of Scilly Steamship Group has said that it hopes Tresco Estate will "continue discussions" about allowing Island Helicopters to fly into Tresco.
Penzance Heliport Ltd confirmed yesterday that the new service will not be able to fly into Tresco as the island's heliport is not scheduled to become fully operational until 2019.
A spokesman for the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company said today: “Island Helicopters will start scheduled flights in May as planned, with tickets going on sale in April.
"Thousands of customers have already contacted us about flying to both St Mary’s and Tresco, and we hope Tresco Estate will continue discussions with us and Island Helicopters about how we can meet this demand so that their customers are not disappointed.”
The Steamship Group announced last week that it is to begin its own helicopter service from Land's End in May.
