Park House team shortlisted for Care Award
The whole Park House team have been shortlisted for a Care and Support Award 2018.
Staff have made it to the final three in the 'Outstanding Residential or Nursing Home Care Worker or Team' category.
The recognition comes less than a year after Park House was at serious risk of closing due to recruitment issues.
The award is for an individual (or team) who has made an outstanding contribution to the care and/or support of others in home or domiciliary care. The judging panel will be looking for evidence that the nominee has "gone beyond what might be routinely expected of them and is someone who is highly regarded by the people they care for and/or by their colleagues".
There were 420 nominations across the awards' 13 categories.
BBC Spotlight's Justin Leigh will host a gala award ceremony at the Eden Project on March 9th, with staff members Sarah Moore (below) and daughter Anna chosen by their colleagues to represent Park House.
The pair will also head to the mainland tomorrow for a special filming day for nominees.
The awards are run by the CAHSC (Cornwall Adult Health and Social Care) Learning Partnership.
The Council of the Isles of Scilly's Lead Member for Adults Adrian Davis congratulated staff, telling This is Scilly: "We're all very pleased and grateful. This is thoroughly deserved recognition for a small but very busy team over here."
The Council filmed a recruitment video for the care home in June 2017. Watch it below:
