Two local groups have been awarded a total of more than £10,400 from the Co-op's Community Fund.
The Isles of Scilly Guides were today presented with £5,009.69 to support their visit to Kernow Jamboree and upgrade camping equipment, while the St Mary's League of Hospital & Community Friends were given £5,411.84.
Martin Dillon presented the cheques on his last day at the store before he retires.
The Co-op's Local Community Fund receives 1% of money spent by members on own brand products and services. This, along with funds raised from carrier bag sales, is used to support projects benefiting the local community.
Local groups can apply to be one of the Co-op's causes, after which members can vote for their preferred choice via their membership cards. Money each shopper raises will go to the group they personally specified for the next six months.
The 20 Co-op stores across Cornwall donated a total of £91,000 today, while £20 million was handed out across the UK.
The previous round of funding at the St Mary's branch raised £4,504 for the Medical Launch Trust and £4,769 for the League of Hospital & Community Friends, a total of £9,273.
