Concern remains over Park House staffing, housing

November 4, 2017

A new Council report has described the staffing situation at Park House as "problematical".

In his update ahead of the upcoming Full Council meeting, Lead Member for Adults Cllr Adrian Davis noted that two positions were vacant when he last checked, "despite the ongoing recruiting effort".

He said that the situation "puts continued pressure on those available to cover with overtime", but added: "We must appreciate that this problem is being well managed at present and trust the a more sustainable solution will evolve."

Cllr Davis also said that there is still "some concern" about the lack of progress in finding dedicated accommodation for carers, which also affects recruitment.

He wrote: "I understand that this is due to uncertainty in the exact form it should take. With the inevitable limited choice I hope that we are not missing out on any suitable property."
