Scilly's Rotary Club appeals for younger members

The Rotary Club of the Isles of Scilly has appealed for new members in order to continue its fundraising activities.

The Rotary Club holds regular Fun Days on Holgates Green

Over the last year, the Club has donated £5,355 to local, national and international charities and causes.

At a recent meeting, members agreed to give £1,200 to St Mary's Health Centre to put towards its wish list of items.

They have also given £995 to Park House for a defibrillator and donated money to people affected by the Manchester Arena terror attack and Hurricane Matthew in Haiti.

The Rotary Club's full list of donations this year is as follows:

Club member John Dart said: "However, to continue this work the Club is desperate for new and younger members. Rotarians are just ordinary people who work together to save and change lives.

"If you feel that you could help in any way, why not come along to one of our fortnightly meetings at the Golf Club."
