Beaches open for dogs from midnight

September 30, 2017

The islands' dogs are once more allowed on restricted beaches from midnight tonight.

Restrictions on Porthcressa, Porthmellon and Old Town run from May 1st until September 30th inclusive. Dogs are allowed to use the beaches for the rest of the year.

All other beaches on St Mary's are available all year, while Parade park, the children's play areas at Porthcressa and the Garrison, Garrison playing field, the Skate Park, and Five Islands School playing field and MUGA remain closed to canines at all times.

The off-island beaches are unrestricted, although dogs must remain on leads on Tresco.

On St Agnes, the MUGA pitch and Primary School Green are permanent exclusion zones, along with the MUGA pitch and Community Centre on Bryher and the enclosed tennis courts on St Martins.
