Freight ship Mali Rose starts sea trials
The Isles of Scilly Steamship Group's new freight ship Mali Rose has begun sea trials.

The ship was purchased in May 2016 and has been given its five-year regulatory service and a refit in the intervening year.
The Steamship Group said in a statement: "Following a refit, the Mali Rose was granted approval to go to sea by the regulatory authorities on Friday 14th July. The ship is carrying out her sea trials in the Mount’s Bay area on Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th July.
"The first test sailing from Penzance to the Isles of Scilly will take place soon afterwards but only when the Company is satisfied that all necessary trials have been completed to its satisfaction.
"The Company will issue further updates in the coming days regarding its progress with the Mali Rose."
The IOSG recently explained why it was still using the Gry Maritha more than a year after purchasing its replacement.
