The Isles of Scilly Steamship Group is hosting a lunch party on board Scillonian III while she is berthed in St Mary’s tomorrow.
However, a community event planned to celebrate the ship's 40th anniversary, originally intended for tomorrow evening, has now been postponed until later in the year.

The company said in a statement: 'Following anniversary celebrations held in Penzance in May, tomorrow’s lunch party will involve staff past and present, as well as invited guests from stakeholder organisations and local businesses based on the Isles of Scilly.
'A community event for all islanders to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Scillonian III, including a major firework display over the islands, was initially planned to take place tomorrow evening but this has now been rescheduled to the early autumn. Details and the new date will be announced soon.'
A party was held on board the ship last month while she was berthed in Penzance, concluding with a fireworks display over the harbour. There was also a pop-up exhibition and a ticket giveaway, with 40 return tickets to the Isles of Scilly on board the Scillonian awarded to the 40 most creative ‘happy birthday’ messages posted on social media. The competition attracted more than 1,740 entries.
