There is only one day left to support a St Martins resident's mission to photograph every person living on the islands.
Toby Tobin-Dougan wants to create a black and white portrait archive of the Isles of Scilly's inhabitants, currently numbered around 2,400.
Toby, who has lived on Scilly for 25 years and previously wrote The Island Ingredient, has applied for an Arts Council grant to help with the purchase of materials and equip a darkroom for the project, but the funding also requires a personal independent investment.
He has launched an online crowdfunding campaign to raise the additional finance required and hopes that islanders and other interested parties will be willing to make a small investment to help the project happen.
However, the campaign ends on Wednesday at 6pm, meaning potential supporters have less than 24 hours to help.
Toby said of the project, titled People of Scilly: "I envisage that this not-for-profit project will be a wonderful insight into a moment of time of the lives of the people who inhabit the Isles of Scilly and a fascinating visual and audio recording of a way of life which has adapted and thrived in this beautifully challenging environment.
"I believe that this proposed photographic archival project, by its intimacy and vast scale of documentation, is without precedent in this country."
