Daymark Festival founder excited about weekend
The organiser of the Daymark Festival has said he is "really looking forward" to this weekend's event
Warren NeilI has run the festival, billed as 'three Easter days of bands, food, drink & craic across the paradise of St Martins', for the last three years.
He said: "The bands are brilliant this year; we have Scilly Laughs [comedy group] as well as Festival HQ at the Reading Room and a pop-up cafe raising funds for Cancer Research, Alzheimer's Society and the Community Hall."
Warren has made successful use of online crowdfunding to help raise money for the festival by selling merchandise in advance.
He explained: "Merchandise, as well as the £5 daily wristband, is a huge part of funding the festival as everything from websites and advertising through to the performers' travel, fees and accommodation has to be reconciled from this - any difference comes from the promoter's pocket (as became very real after last year's storms).
"Supporting the Daymark Festival by buying a wristband on the day or taking away a pretty cool T-shirt would help keep entertainment alive in this little corner of Paradise."
This year's Daymark Festival takes place over Easter weekend, Friday 14th, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of April, at the Karma Hotel, Seven Stones Inn and Community Hall on St Martins.
Acts include comedy from Julie Jepson and Joanna Neary of Scilly Laughs and music from Boundless Brothers, Rough Island Band, Broken Down, Charlotte Hastie, Figurehead, Hedluv + Passman, Joshface and Stevie & the Masquerades.
