Brexit Party wins, but pro-Remain vote stronger
The Brexit Party won the most votes in the European election on the Isles of Scilly with 238.
However, more people voted for pro-Remain parties in total, with the Green Party receiving 212 and the Liberal Democrats 206.
The Conservative & Unionist Party scored 90, Labour 49 and Change UK 31.
There were 856 valid votes in total, with 23 rejected under the category 'unmarked or void for uncertainty'.
The Isles of Scilly saw the highest turnout in the South West for the election at 55.39%.
The total turnout for the region, which also includes Gibraltar, was 40.51% (1,678,619), an increase of 3% percent on 2014.
Deputy Local Returning Officer Joseph Payne read the results at the Wesleyan Chapel at around 10.30pm.
The Isles of Scilly voted to remain in the EU in the 2016 referendum, with 803 votes compared to Leave's 621.
