Mali goes! Ship to make last scheduled sailing tonight

The Mali Rose will make her last scheduled sailing to the Isles of Scilly tonight.

The vessel will leave Penzance at approximately 6.30pm and all freight will be unloaded on St Mary’s tomorrow morning. She will return to Penzance at around 9.30am.

The Isles of Scilly Steamship Group told customers: "We would like to remind you that this is the last scheduled sailing for the Mali Rose and that Friday 10th May scheduled sailing has been cancelled to allow for an in-depth handover from the Mali back to the Gry Maritha."

The Gry has been undergoing a five-year survey during the Mali's three-month familiarisation period. It was announced last month that the Mali will cease operation and be disposed of as soon as possible.

The Steamship Group said that it is accepting limited freight on the Scillonian on Friday and Saturday, which must be booked in with Penzance freight office in advance.

The Gry Maritha will return to scheduled service on Monday (May 13th).
