ISSG saves the day for young rugby players

The Isles of Scilly Steamship Group came to the rescue of two young rugby players who were on holiday on the islands and unable to attend an important competition on the mainland.

Louis Taylor and Oli Deering from Penryn RFC’s under 12s rugby team were both on Scilly for half term. Their team had been invited to take part in the Land Rover Premiership Cup tournament in Exeter during their holiday but the timing and distance meant it did not look possible for them to attend.

Penrynrugby.com wrote: "The boys, who are an integral part of the team, were delighted when Skybus, part of Isles of Scilly Travel, offered to support them by flying them back to the mainland to take part in the competition and then back to Scilly to complete their holidays.

"The Penryn team did exceptionally well by winning their Pool against fierce opposition from both Devon and Dorset."

"Without the support of Isles of Scilly Travel, this amazing opportunity for the boys would not have taken place and they can’t thank the company enough."
