Island Carriers moves to former Nike workshop
Island Carriers has relocated into Nike’s old premises at Porthmellon Industrial Estate.
The large 12-tonne vehicle ramp has been retained and will be available for customers to utilise on a request basis when using their own engineers. This will be strictly subject to meeting health and safety requirements and having the correct insurance in place.
The company said retaining the ramp will ensure that island-based vehicles, including the emergency services, can continue to carry out essential maintenance.
Island Carriers will continue to sell petrol and diesel for road vehicles at the pumps Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings. They will provide fuel on account and any customers wishing to benefit from monthly terms will need to have or open an account.
Manager Jeanette Ware said: “The move to our new office will allow us to expand the business and provide additional fuel and vehicle ramp services alongside our core operation.
"We have a very dedicated and hardworking team which are very close and provide a fantastic high-quality customer service. We have been growing over the last couple years and this new building has given us the scope to explore some new ventures.”
Island carriers will now operate longer opening hours for fuel sales including Saturdays.
Nike Engineering closed on October 5th.
