Scilly cancer support group to meet tomorrow

The Isles of Scilly's new cancer support group is meeting tomorrow (Wednesday, September 12th).

Scilly C-Siders is a self-help group set up for residents on the Isles of Scilly who have been affected by cancer.

It was formed following Macmillan Cancer Support's visit in May and is supported by the charity.

Shirley Graham said: "C-Siders is for anyone who has been affected by cancer - either living with, recovering from, caring for etc. We are a group of folk whose aim is to support each other through times that can be lonely, dark, worrying or painful.

"Tomorrow afternoon we are having a cream tea at St Mary's Hall between 2pm and 3pm, just as a small treat and a get together. If anyone would like to come along and join us who has been affected please do."

Cancer support is also available via The Cove Macmillan Support Centre on 01872 25 6363 and email thecove@nhs.net or by calling the Macmillan Support Line on 0808 808 00 00 (Monday to Friday, 9am–8pm) or visiting www.macmillan.org.uk.
