St Mary's Hospital Fete raises more than £1,600

St Mary's Hospital Summer Fete this afternoon has raised more than £1,600.

The event, which took place between 2pm and 4pm in the Hospital Gardens, included cakes, tombola, bric-a-brac, crafts, jumble, books and more. There was also a raffle.

Ruth Wright wrote on Facebook: "Today we had our Hospital Fete - we’ve had a rough count up and it looks like we’ve raised over £1,600 for the League of Friends! That’s an amazing amount!

"The money is going to pay for our new bedding for the wards to complement our lovely new curtains. Thank you to everyone in our community (& visitors) who donated raffle prizes, cakes etc and who gave so generously on the day. We are so grateful for your support.

"Last but not least - thank you to all of our wonderful staff who have worked so hard all day to make it such a success."
