Five Islands pupils get new uniforms

Pupils at Five Islands School's secondary base on the Isles of Scilly have brand new uniforms.

The new look, chosen in consultation with secondary students, now consists of a plain white shirt; royal blue blazer with logo (designed by Richard Pearce) on the left hand pocket; black trousers or shorts or blue checked skirt; royal blue tie (black tie for prefects); and black leather/leather look footwear.

The school has provided and paid for the skirts, blazers and ties as part of the uniform launch.

Head of School Jo Yeates told This is Scilly: "We are very proud of our school and our students; the new uniform symbolises the start of a new and exciting identity as a part of the LEAP (Leading Edge Academy Partnership) multi academy trust led by Mounts Bay Academy."

It was decided earlier this year not to change the primary uniform yet, with the school's website saying that "we would like to spend more time exploring some different options before making a final decision".
