Dog Show rescheduled for second time

The Isles of Scilly's annual Dog Show has been postponed for the second time.

The popular event was originally planned for June but was rescheduled for tomorrow due to poor weather.

However, another adverse forecast has prompted the Isles of Scilly Veterinary Support Group to postpone it again.

Karrie Skaife posted on social media: "It will hopefully be rescheduled for a date, yet to be decided, in August - third time lucky - and we look forward to seeing all our loyal friends, human and canine, then."

She added: "The IOSVSG now has keyrings and cotton tote bags printed with the logo as welcome gifts for people who sign up to be regular supporters, or available to buy. They will be for sale at the Dog Show, when it happens, and supporter forms are available at Tideline, the Surgery or by request from Pam Manning or Rachel Keeley.

"Please do consider becoming a supporter, especially if you are a pet owner or animal lover, who wants to make sure our islands can provide the best care possible for all animals. Your support is very much appreciated."

The Dog Show features ten categories: Most Handsome Dog, Prettiest Bitch, Best Child Under 12 In Charge of Dog, Waggiest Tail, Best Puppy, Best Visitors Dog, Best Owner/Dog Lookalike, Golden Oldie 8 years+, Best Trick and Dog That Judges Would Like To Take Home.

The winners of each category then compete to be crowned Best In Show.
